Training Available at the University of Michigan
Proteome Mapping Laboratory
2D Gel Electrophoresis
Schedule
A Training Session
2D gel training involves the use of Immobilized pH gradient gels for
the first dimension separation, casting, and running
of second dimension gels, staining and digitization
of images. An overview of
sample preparation, 2D gel electrophoresis, in-gel
digestion, and mass spectrometry is available.
A short introduction to the use of Z3 (Compugen) software
for image analysis is available. The software may be used by investigators
to do more detailed data mining, using the tutorial in the software Help
section. There is a nominal per hour fee.
Mass Spectrometry Data Acquisition
Schedule
A Training Session
Walk-Up mass spectrometry instrumentation is available for investigators to use
at our facility. Investigators can obtain training
on the DE PRO (Applied Biosystems), a reflectron time-of-flight
mass spectrometer, for MS analysis. Maldi QTOF (MicroMass),
a quadropole time-of -flight instrument, for MS/MS
analysis.
Interpretation of Mass Spectra
Check Workshop Schedule
In cooperation with the National
Resource for Proteomics and Pathways, a workshop
on Interpretation of Mass Spectra is offered once
a month. A Quick Introduction
to Interpretation and
a more detailed Interpretation
of Mass Spectra are available.
